Steinway Piano Gallery of Pasadena invites you to a Special Steinway Spirio Concert Event
Amal / Hope: Bending Space, Crossing Time is a groundbreaking musical event blending history, technical innovation, and global unity. This concert project merges past and present using Steinways Spiriocast to promote world peace through art.
This concert will showcase Duo Amal, the world-renowned Israeli and Palestinian pianists Yaron Kohlberg (Steinway artist) and Bishara Haroni, whose artistry symbolizes peace and unity through music. The duos name, Amal, means ‘hope’ in Arabic and reflects their belief that music can overcome different backgrounds and cultural boundaries. The group has been performing concerts together since their debut at the Oslo Opera House in 2008.
The concert will feature two generations of Steinway concert grand pianos, separated by 150 years in their creation: the meticulously restored 1877 Centennial Grand and the new William E. Steinway Limited Edition piano with the latest Steinway Spirio System, which is modeled after the historic Centennial, and crafted in honor of Steinways 170-year anniversary. This concert will feature newly composed and arranged piano duets written specifically for the Spirio system by Dr. Jeff Kryka, each highlighting a different aspect of this new technology and Steinway history which allows us to bend both space & time.
